Eleanore Platt, 82

San Jose, Calif. - Eleanore J. Platt, 82, died Tuesday, May 8, 2001 at her home in San Jose, Calif.

Platt Obit Mass of Christian burial wil be held on Friday, May 25, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls with concelebrants Father Tim Bushy, Father Gerald Noesen and Father Dennis Fournier officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be her 21 grandchildren. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Red Lake Falls.

Eleanore Jeanette Marchildon was born on June 16, 1918 in Red Lake Falls, the daughter of Gilbert and Mary (Baril) Marchildon. She graduated from Lafayette High School in Red Lake Falls.

On February 14, 1938, she married Glen N. Fellman in Red Lake Falls. Eleanore was the mother of six children and was active at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, serving as one of its organists for many years. After Judge Fellman's death in 1964, she was employed at the Red Lake County Courthouse a as secretary to the probate judge and clerk of court.

In 1977, Eleanore married Maurice J. Platt of San Jose, Calif. The couple made their home in San Jose. Following Maurice's death in 1984, Eleanore continued to reside there. Hospice and her daughters, Julie and Maureen, were her caregivers during the final months of her life.

She was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church in San Jose.

Eleanore is survived by four daughters, Julie (Bill) Horak of Bettendorf, Iowa, Maureen (Ron) Lehrer of Georgetown, Texas, Valerie Larson of Thief River Falls and Joan Hunter of Denver, Colo.; two sons, Dr. James D. (Kerri) Fellman of Duluth and Dr. Thomas G. (Kathy) Fellman of Fargo, N.D.; 21 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Jane (John) Emerick of Portland, Ore., Robert (Lorna) Platt of Kailua Kona, Hawaii and Barbara (James) Willenborg of San Francisco, Calif.; six step grandchildren; two brothers, Valerian Marchildon of Duluth and Ralph Marchildon of Redmond, Ore.; two sisters, Marion Riche of Boise, Idaho and Loretta (Wayne) Schwegman of Willmar; and her good friend of 16 years, Robert L. Ennis of San Jose, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; three brothers, Robert, Donald and Duane Marchildon; two sisters, Lorraine Marchildon and Genevieve Dyer; a son-in-law, Jon P. Larson; and a stepson, Dr. David Platt.
