Maynard Peterson, 53

Alvarado - Maynard Peterson, 53, died Saturday, March 10, 2001 at his home in Alvarado.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 16, at Alvarado Baptist Church in Alvarado. Interment will be in Vega Baptist Cemetery, rural Alvarado.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 15, at Quanrud-DuBore Funeral Home in Warren. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to services at the church.

Maynard Vernon Peterson was born on March 12, 1947. As a young boy, he was adopted by Melvin and Mildred (Asp) Peterson and raised in Oak Park township of Marshall county. He attended school in Alvarado. Maynard worked for the Sheraton Hotel in Minneapolis, Glenmore in Crookston and as an assistant cook at the Best Western Inn in Thief River Falls. In the early 1980's, he returned to the family farm. He enjoyed cutting and selling wood. Maynard was the caretaker for Elim Lutheran Cemetery and Vega Baptist Cemetery for many years.

He was an active member of Alvarado Baptist Church where he served as an usher. He was also a member of the Siouxline Archery Club.

He enjoyed deer hunting, eating out, visiting with people and photography.

Maynard is survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
