Iolet Peterson, 86

Karlstad - Iolet Peterson, 86, died Sunday, November 18, 2001 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 23, at First Lutheran Church in Karlstad with Rev. Gary Halverson officiating. Kirstin Olson was the organist, and vocalists were Ron Fossell, Lyndon Johnson, Janice Gilbertson and Judy Gardner. Casketbearers included Ronald Fossell, Marlin Spangrud, Virgil Hams, Claus Pearson, Everett Englund and Roger Bogestad. Interment was in Karlstad Cemetery in Karlstad with Collins Funeral Home of Karlstad in charge of the arrangements.
Iolet Vivian Bogestad was born on November 2, 1915 in Springbrook Township of Kittson County near Karlstad, the daughter of Hans and Tobine (Anderson) Bogestad. She grew up and attended school in Springbrook Township and was baptized and confirmed at Oslo Lutheran Church near her home.
On December 23, 1941, Iolet was united in marriage to Manfred Peterson at Oslo Lutheran Church. The couple farmed in Springbrook Township, and Iolet cooked at Bogestad Farms for many years. After Manfred's death on July 25, 1951, Iolet moved to Karlstad where she had since made her home. She was employed at Karlstad Memorial Hospital for many years and also worked at Arctic Enterprises for several years.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Karlstad.
Iolet is survived by a daughter, Gayle Olson of Bemidji; three grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a son, James in 1985; a grandson, Casey; three sisters, Inga, Myrtle and Freda; and four brothers, Albin, John, Norman and Spener. A00003B2001NV28
