Carla Peterson, 87 Thief River Falls - Carla Peterson, 87, died on Thursday, March 20, 2003 at Oakland Park Nursing Home in Thief River Falls. Memorial services were held on Monday, March 24 at Johnson-Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls with the Rev. John Wollenzien officiating. Ida Nordvall was the organist and Vanessa Martell was the soloist. Carla E. Peterson was born on August 17, 1915, the daughter of Chester and Olga (Olson) Rambech in Amherst Junction, Wisc. She moved to Thief River Falls with her family in 1923, where she attended school, graduating from Lincoln High School in 1934. On October 17, 1936, Carla was united in marriage to Robert Peterson in Smiley Township, where the couple farmed for 27 years before moving into Thief River Falls. She worked for 13 years as the office manager at Wiener Motors, Inc. and at Thomas Motors, Inc. She also worked as secretary at Ulrich Insurance Agency for three years. Carla was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church for 27 years and since then, has been a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was confirmed when she was 16. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Minnesota Federation of Women's Clubs for 17 years. Survivors include two children, Arlene Peterson of Plummer and Lance Peterson of Thief River Falls; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
