Grygla
- Fredrick Paulson, 86, died on Wednesday,
March 26, 2003 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief
River Falls.
Funeral
services were held on Saturday, April 5 at United
Lutheran Church in Gatzke with the Rev. Sandra
Hollands officiating. Gloria Sistad was the
organist and Mary Ann Lunsetter was the soloist.
Interment was in Moose River Cemetery in Rollis
Township of Marshall County with military honors
accorded by the Grygla Military.
Fredrick
"Fred" Paulson was born on September 27, 1916, the
son of Walter and Elmina (Swanson) Paulson, in
Minneapolis. He grew up and attended school in
Minneapolis. He served in the United States Army
during World War II and was dicharged with military
honors. Following his discharge, he drove truck for
Land O'Lakes for 10 years. He then began working
for Ralston Purina in Minneapolis until his
retirement in 1980.
On August
6, 1966, Fred married Mildred Aune Zimmerman in
Northwood, Iowa. The couple moved to Webster,
Wisc., and, later, to Siren, Wisc. In October 2001,
they moved to Grygla. Fred was a member of the
Siren Moose Lodge and the VFW in
Richfield.
Survivors
include his wife, Mildred of Thief River Falls; two
step-sons, Jerome (Camilla) Zimmerman of Richfield
and Kenneth (Patricia) Zimmerman of Sioux Falls,
S.D.; two step-daughters, Marlis (Fred) Haubrick of
Grygla and Renee (David) Filas of Circle Pines;
nine step-grandchildren; seven step
great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helga Reule of
Siren, Wisc., and Martha Lewendowski of
Minneapolis; a sister-in-law; and several nieces
and nephews.
Fredrick
was preceded in death by his parents; sister,
Freida; brothers, Ted Paulson and Arnold Paulson;
and a sister-in-law and a brother-in-law.
