River Falls - Barb Owens, 57, died Tuesday,
July 6, 2004 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief
River Falls.
Funeral
services were held at
10:30
a.m. on Friday, July 9, at Redeemer Lutheran Church
in Thief River Falls, with Rev. Mark Helgeland
officiating. Casket bearers included Scott Walseth,
Blake Owens, Brent Pedersen and Nathan Pedersen.
Interment was held at Prairie View Cemetery in
Euclid.
Barbara
was born February 22, 1947 in Crookston, the
daughter of Lloyd Francis and Mary Elizabeth
(Kimball) Owens. She was baptized and confirmed at
the Presbyterian Church in Euclid. She attended
school in Warren and graduated from the Warren High
School in 1965. Following high school she took
several college courses in cosmetology.
In
August of 1965, Barb was united in marriage to Roy
Walseth in Thief River Falls. Throughout her life,
Barb lived in several places including Minnesota,
Wyoming, Vermont and New York. She worked as a
secretary for Arctic Cat, General Electric, and
Kawasaki.
Hobbies
include downhill skiing, snowmobiling, crafts and
working with her hands. Barb was a member of AA.
Survivors
include one son, Troy (Teri) Walseth of Fargo, ND;
two grandchildren; three brothers and sisters,
George (Marie) Owens of Angus, Sharon (Brian) Kelly
of Thief River Falls, and Curt (Shirley) Owens of
Euclid; loyal companion of 14 years, Gene Sauve of
Red Lake Falls; two cats; and many other relatives
and friends.
She
was preceded in death by her father.
