Ostgard, Lucille photo2Red Lake Falls - Lucille Ostgard, 87, of Red Lake Falls, died on Saturday, April 24, 2004 at the Hillcrest Nursing Home in Red Lake Falls.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 29, at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls with Father Tim Bushy Officiating. Casket bearers include Ronald Elliott, James Elliott, Michael Elliott, Daniel Plante, Myron Kaiser, Duane Kaiser. Interment will be held at the Calvary Cemetery in Crookston.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, (today) April 28 from 5 &endash; 8 p.m., with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service at Johnson Funeral Service in Red Lake Falls and also one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.

Lucille Emma Ostgard was born September 17, 1916, the daughter of Joseph and Permelia (Champagne) Perreault in Terrebonne. She attended school in Terrebonne.

She was united in marriage to Thomas Plante in 1931 in Terrebonne. Lucille moved from Brooks to Crookston in 1958 with her children. She worked at the Crookston Hotel Café for several years. She was known for her great cooking and baking.

She married Kermit Ostgard June 29, 1962 in Crookston. They moved to Red Lake Falls in 1967 where they managed the Lincoln Hotel until Kermit's death in 1975. She lived at Sunset apartments before moving into the Hillcrest Nursing Home in 2002.

Survivors include five children, Sherman (Jean) Plante of Red Lake Falls; Shirley (Bob) Elliott of Moorhead; Janice (Arnold) Lillo of Good Thunder; Larry (Janice) Plante of Mankato and Bonnie (Ernie) Won of Madelia; three step-children, Donna (Leon) Thorson of Climax, Kenneth (Pat) Ostgard of Glendale, and Benita (Ken) Rud of California; 22 grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, 24 step-great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ezibelle Rottoli of Reseda, Calif.; Betty Stephenson of San Razito, Calif. and Delores Brown of Mankato; a very special niece, Judy Olson; and a daughter-in-law, Joy Plante.

She was preceded in death by two husbands; three infant children; one son, Darel "Joe" Plante; her parents; four brothers and five sisters and many nieces and nephews. A00003B2004AR28
