Lenna Ortloff, 91

Thief River Falls - Lenna Ortloff, 91, died Wednesday, November 21, 2001 at Villa St. Vincent Nursing Home in Crookston.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 30, at 2 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls with Rev. Galen Sylvester officiating. Burial will be in Rux Cemetery in St. Hilaire.
Lenna Irene Best was born on February 7, 1910 at Cheyenne, Wy., the daughter of Hugh and Lucinda (Newman) Best. When she was a young girl, she moved with her family to the Thief River Falls area where she attended a rural school.
On December 12, 1928, Lenna was united in marriage to Henry Ortloff at St. Hilaire. The couple farmed west of St. Hilaire, and Lenna worked at the Land O'Lakes turkey processing plant. She also worked at Inga's Cafe and later as a pastry cook at Dee's Cafe. Henry died on February 29, 1988. Lenna moved to Thief River Falls and resided there until 1995 when she moved to the Villa St. Vincent Nursing Home in Crookston.
She enjoyed baking, cooking, working in her garden and sewing.
Lenna is survived by three daughters, Helen (Hank) Studt of Tucson, Ariz., Janice Lofberg of Gilby, N.D. and Norrene (Tom) McClelland of Manhattan, Mont.; a son, Chester (Carole) Ortloff of Tucson, Ariz.; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; a great great-granddaughter; and a daughter-in-law, Arlene Ortloff of Crookston.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Ardith; a son, Orville; her parents; a brother, William Best; and a sister, Faye Hahner. A00003B2001NV28
