Ida Ordahl, 89

Thief River Falls - Ida Ordahl, 89, died Sunday, May 5, 2002 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Red Lake Falls.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, at Oak Ridge Lutheran Church, rural Thief River Falls, with Rev. Luther Peterson officiating. Mrs. Martin Solseng will be the organist, and the soloist will be Van Swanson. Casketbearers will be Dave Miller, Scott Peters, Raymond Olson, Brad Blawat, Kenneth Brateng, Dean Brateng, and Randy Carpenter. Interment will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Norden Township of Pennington County.

Visitation will be held from noon to 8 p.m. today (Wednesday, May 8) with a 7 p.m. prayer service at Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to services at the church.

Ida Marie Brateng was born on August 31, 1912 at Mekinock, N.D., the daughter of Hans and Mathea (Peterson) Brateng. She was baptized at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Honeyford, N.D. and confirmed in the Wannaska area where she grew up.

On June 16, 1938, Ida was united in marriage to Henry Ordahl. The couple resided and farmed in Norden Township.

Ida was a member of Oak Ridge Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid. She also taught Sunday school.

She enjoyed baking, cooking, the outdoors, playing guitar, and caring for her family.

Ida is survived by a daughter, Elaine Miller of Viking, a grandson, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, an infant daughter, her parents, and all of her siblings. A00003B2002MY08
