Lawerence Omundson, 89

St. Paul - Lawerence O. Omundson, 89, died Thursday, May 31, 2001 at a St. Paul hospital.

Funeral services were held Monday, June 4, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Roseville.

Lawerence Omundson was born in Silverton township of Pennington county near Thief River Falls, the son of Oscar and Inga (Westby) Omundson. Lawerence attended school in Thief River Falls and later in Warren after moving there with his family. He graduated from the Northwest School of Agriculture in Crookston in 1931.

On March 26, 1938, Lawerence married Ruth Omdahl in Warren. The couple lived on a farm near Warren, and he did surveying for the Soil Conservation Service. Later, he worked for the federal government as a real estate appraiser and with other government agencies in other cities. After retiring, the couple lived in Apache Junction, Ariz., for several years before returning to make their home in St. Paul.

Lawerence is survived by his wife, Ruth; a son, Robert (Michelle) of Omaha, Neb.; a daughter Lois Jean (Rogers) Walker of Tacoma, Wash.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Bishop of Pensacola, Fla. and Evelyn Neufeld of Plymouth; a brother, Kenneth of Minneapolis; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Alice and Ardyce; and two brothers, William and Lindley. A00003B2001JN13
