- John David Ombler, Sr., 53, died on Monday,
September 22, 2003 at his home in
Strandquist.
Memorial
services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday,
September 27 at the Ombler home in Strandquist.
Military honors will be accorded by the Strandquist
American Legion Post.
John
David Ombler was born on August 17, 1950 at Oak
Hill, W.V., the son of Anna Nell (Peterson) and
John F. Ombler. He attended school and grew up in
Cleveland, Ohio, and was raised in the Baptist
faith. Dave served in the U.S. Army from October
1967 until his discharge in November 1969. He
returned to Cleveland to work as an auto body
repairman.
On June
21, 1975, he married Ivalo Harper in Cleveland. The
couple resided there for three years until moving
to Strandquist in 1978, where they have since
resided. Dave was a member of the American Legion
Post.
Survivors
include his wife, Ivalo; three sons, Steven of
North Carolina, J.D. (Sara) of Strandquist and
Travis of Crookston; two daughters, Ruth (Scott)
Syverson of Karlstad and Linda of Strandquist;
three grandchildren; his mother, Anna Nell Ombler
of Twinsburg, Ohio; one sister, Judy (Bernie)
Thomas of Twinsburg, Ohio; and several nieces,
nephews and other relatives.
Dave was
preceded in death by his father and two sisters,
