Norman Olson, 85

Thief River Falls - Norman L. Olson, 85, died on Tuesday, February 11, 2003 at Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine.

Funeral services were held on Norman Olson Tuesday, February 18 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls with the Rev. Tim Bauer officiating. Ida Nordvall was the organist and Jane Anderson was the soloist. Honorary casketbearers were Floyd Hallan, Andrew Skaar, Ray Olson, Fred Howick and Don Anderson.

Norman Leonard Olson was born on December 25, 1917, the son of Gordon M. and Helena L. (Moldenhauer) Olson in rural Thief River Falls. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church. He grew up and attended Norden Country School. Norman farmed with his brothers his whole life. He also did farmed work for Andrew Skaar after selling the farm. He chopped and sold firewood.

Norman enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, fox hunting and trapping.

Survivors include ten nieces and nephews and three sisters-in-law.

Norman was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Lilas Klefstad and Leona Olson; brothers, Lawrence, Kenneth, Glen, Norman, Chester, Gordon and Donald; and a nephew and a niece.
