Keewatin
- Mable Olson, 90, formerly of Oklee, died on
Wednesday, July 7, 2004 at the University Medical
Center in Hibbing.
Funeral
services were held on Saturday, July 10 at Nazareth
Lutheran Church in rural Trail, with Rev. Joseph
Abrahamson officiating. Interment was held at
Clearwater Cemetery, rural Oklee.
Mable
Jeanette Bakken was born March 28, 1914 in Star
Township, Erie, the daughter of Carl and Sena
(Brakke) Bakken. She was confirmed at Eklund Church
in Erie and attended Little Oak School in Hickory
Township, Pennington County.
On
August 10, 1931, Mable was united in marriage to
Julius Olson in Thief River Falls. The couple lived
and farmed in Hickory Township and Highlanding
Township.
She
was a homemaker and loved to crochet, knit, sew and
especially loved to be with her family.
Survivors
include four children, Donald (Jeanette) Olson of
Hibbing, Lillian (Selmer) Myrum of Keewatin, Robert
(Bonnie) Olson of Keewatin and Milton (Susan) Olson
of Keewatin; 13 grandchildren; 24
great-grandchildren; four
great-great-grandchildren; and one brother-in-law,
Fred Wilde.
She
was preceded in death by her husband; her parents;
seven sisters; one brother and numerous nieces and
nephews.
