Larry
Olson, 47
Greenbush
- Larry Olson, 47, died Saturday, September 22,
2001 at Roseau Area Hospital as a result of
injuries sustained in an automobile/deer
accident.
Funeral
service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday,
September 27, 2001 at Bethel Lutheran Church in
Greenbush with Rev. John Jorgensen officiating.
Joan Haugen will be the organist, and Jeanne
Novacek will be the soloist. Casketbearers will be
Dale Amundson, Lavern Emery, Monte Graff, Brian
Kjos, Nathan McFarlane and Pete Stauffenecker.
Interment will be in Bethel Lutheran Cemetery in
Greenbush.
Visitation
will be held today (Wednesday, September 26) after
5 p.m. with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service at Gieseke
Funeral Chapel in Greenbush. Visitation will also
be held for one hour prior to services at the
church.
Larry
Wayne Olson was born on March 28. 1954 in
Greenbush, the son of Maynard and Viola Olson. He
grew up and attended school in Greenbush,
graduating from Greenbush High School in 1972. He
farmed on the family farm in Deer Township near
Greenbush with his mother and father.
On
August 12, 1988, Larry married Marie Ostrander Cook
at Bethel Lutheran Church in Greenbush.
He
was a member of the local elevator board and Roseau
County Soil Water Conservation District board for
many years.
Larry
enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing, hunting,
snowmobiling and other outdoor
activities.
Survivors
include his wife, Marie; a son, Landon at home; a
daughter, Mandy (Marty) Trangsrud of Roseau; his
parents, Maynard and Viola Olson of Greenbush; a
sister, Mary Lou (Forrest) Johnson of Roseau; a
nephew; and a niece.
