Donna Olson, 69

Thief River Falls - Donna Olson, 69, died Friday, June 8, 2001 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, N.D.

Mass of Christian burial was held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 12, at Olson Obit St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Thief River Falls with Father Tim Bushy officiating. Carol Amundson was the organist, and Tiffany Sorenson was the soloist. Casketbearers were Cindy Herbert, Stacy Grant, Shelly Moon, Amy Gibbons, Becky Ridell, Jean Rinowski, Jenel Still and Sandra Wellman. Interment was in St. Bernard's Catholic Cemetery in Thief River Falls with Green Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Donna Theresa Rinowski was born on October 5, 1931 in Greenbush, the daughter of Joseph and Frances (Johnson) Rinowski. She attended school in Greenbush and Thief River Falls, graduating from Lincoln High School in 1949. Following high school, she worked at Montgomery Ward in Thief River Falls for 10 years. She then moved to Minneapolis where she worked for Northwest Bank for three years.

In 1967, Donna returned to Thief River Falls and married LeRoy Olson. The couple made their home in Thief River Falls and raised a son, Blake. LeRoy died in 1979.

Donna volunteered may hours at St. Bernard's Catholic Church and worked with the D.A.R.E. program and Pennington County Sheriff Department. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary.

Survivors include two sisters, Mardette (Steven) Lucas of Coon Rapids and Marie Nelson of Detroit Lakes; and two brothers, Lambert (Marcia) Rinowski of Grand Rapids and Harry (Aileen) Rinowski of West Fargo, N.D.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Blake; her parents; and two brothers, Donald and Joseph Rinowski. A00003B2001JN13
