Beatrice
Olson, 85
Spokane,
Wash. - Beatrice Olson, 85, formerly of Thief
River Falls, died in Spokane, Wash.
Private
memorial services were held on January 29, 2003 at
the Fairview Assisted Living Complex in
Spokane.
Beatrice
was born on May 23, 1917, the daughter of Eric and
Betty Swanson, in Esplee Township. She was raised
by her adoptive parents, Oscar and Johanna Ostmoe.
She grew up and attended school in Thief River
Falls. She graduated from Duluth State Teachers
College in 1936 and taught in several country
schools.
In 1942,
she married Vernon "Bud" Mosbeck. Vernon died in
Italy in 1944.
Beatrice
returned to Thief River Falls and worked as an
office manager until 1950.
In 1952,
she was united in marriage to Clarence G. Olson.
The couple lived in Fargo, N.D., and then in
Winnipeg, Manitoba. In 1967, she and her children
moved to Spokane, Wash. She was office manager and
bookkeeper for Business Development Corporation of
Spokane from 1970 to 1986.
Survivors
include her daughters, Jeanne Olson of Spokane, and
Kaye Eileen Willard (James) Maki of Racine, Wisc.;
two grandchildren; and several nieces and
nephews.
