Thief
River Falls - Arthur Olson, 81, died on Sunday,
July 28, 2002 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Red Lake
Falls.
Funeral
services were held on 
Tuesday,
July 30 at Johnson-Green Funeral Home with Rev.
Robert Dahlen officiating. Interment was in
Rosendahl Cemetery in Goodridge.
Arthur
S. Olson was born on June 9, 1921 at Goodridge, the
son of Alfred and Sarah (Halvorson) Olson. He was
baptized and confirmed at Reiner Free Lutheran
Church near Goodridge. He attended Reiner School
and the Crookston Agricultural College.
In
1945, Arthur was united in marriage to Eva Rebeau
in Duluth. The couple made their home in Reiner
Township. In October of 1951, he married Mabel
Hessman. The couple lived in Salem, Ore. for five
years.
Arthur
worked construction on roads unitl 1974 in Alaska,
Hawaii and Guam. He returned to Goodridge in March
of 1974 and resided there until 1991 when he moved
to Grand Forks, N.D. and eventually moved to Thief
River Falls.
Survivors
include three daughters, Sara Finley of Thief River
Falls, Lynda Fallos of Las Vegas, Nev., and Cheryl
Pittman of Salem, Ore.; one son, Stanley Olson of
Salem, Ore.; five grandchildren; two
great-grandchildren; and one sister, Thelma Bailey
of Victorvillle, Calif.
Arthur
was preceded in death by his parents and one
brother, Gordon.
