- Elizabeth Shirley Margaret Okland, 2-month
and 9-day-old daughter of Chris and Sharie (Elmore)
Okland of Crookston, died on Wednesday morning,
June 30, 2004, at the Fairview University Medical
Center in Minneapolis.
Funeral
services for Elizabeth Shirley Margaret Okland will
be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 12, at St.
Paul's Lutheran Church in Crookston, with Rev. Bill
Reck officiating. Interment will be held at the
Oakdale Cemetery in Crookston.
Visitation
will be at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Crookston
from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 11, with a one
hour prayer service at 7 p.m., and one hour prior
to services on Monday.
Elizabeth
was born at the Fairview-University Medical Center
in Minneapolis on April 21, at just 24 weeks
because of Hellps Syndrome. Since then she had been
gaining weight and doing very well until the
development of recent complications that her tiny
body couldn't fight anymore.
Besides
her loving parents, Chris and Sharie, Elizabeth
leaves a sister, Emily Sharilin at home, a sister,
Kjrsten Rachelle of Iwakuni, Japan; her
grandparents, William and Freda Elmore of
Crookston, and Gerald and Barbara Okland of Thief
River Falls; a great-grandmother, Shirley Kubicek
of Zephyr Hills, Fla.; an uncle, Erik Okland of
Thief River Falls; an aunt, Ellen (Erick) Groo of
Thief River Falls; and many cousins and other
relatives.
She
was preceded in death by a half-sister, Rebekkah.
