Christopher
Bryan Nyland was born on February 9, 1976 in Bagley
to Bryan and Peggy (Robb) Nyland. He grew up on a
dairy farm south of Gully and graduated from
Fosston High School with the Class of 1994.
Following high school, Chris attended Northland
Community College in Thief River Falls where he
played on the football team.
Chris
worked various construction jobs, including
operating bore machines and heavy equipment. He was
also a talented mason, which was his most recent
work with the union. Locally, he worked for Killian
and Son of Fosston and Wilde Construction of
Shevlin. Chris was known as a hard worker and one
who always "got the job done."
During
his high school years, Chris was actively involved
in his church youth group and enjoyed the time he
spent at the Lake Bronson Bible Camp. He played
football and basketball throughout his school years
and was active in local 4-H; he was an avid
outdoorsman who took the time to appreciate nature;
he enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing pool,
softball, baseball and most all sports and he loved
to cook. Most of all, Chris loved the time that he
could spend at home with his family. During the
last year and a half, his greatest gift from God
was Tanya and her two children, Gavin and Hope.
They gave him new meaning and purpose in his live.
He loved them unconditionally &endash; he was able
to be a daddy and he loved it.
Chris
will be remembered as a very likeable person, who
carried with him a smile that came from deep
within, and one who was always willing to lend a
helping hand. Left to mourn his passing are his
parents, Peggy (Gene) Vig of Fosston, and Bryan
(Wendy) Nyland of Gully; brothers and sisters,
Mandy Nyland (fiance, Matthew) of Bemidji, and
Tylor, Grace and Mary, all at home in Fosston;
