Calif. - Amanda Nygaard, 92, died on Saturday,
December 13, 2003, at Antelope Valley Care Center
in Lancaster, Calif.
Funeral
Services will be held at
3
p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20, at the Lancaster First
Assembly of God Church. Interment will be in Joshua
Memorial Park. Visitation will be at Mumaws Funeral
Home on Friday, Dec. 19, from 4-8 p.m.
Amanda
was born on October 26, 1911, in Stephen. She was
raised in Thief River Falls. In 1950 she moved to
Lancaster, Calif., with her husband, Leo B.
Nygaard, who preceded her in death in 1968. She
worked for Olsen Bros. egg plant, Al's Vacuum shop
and Mission Linen, in Lancaster, Calif., and World
Literature Crusade, in North Hollywood, Calif.
Her
hobbies were needlework, reading and music, playing
piano and pump organ for many years in tent meeting
in Minnesota and church pianist in Minnesota, and
Lancaster, Calif. She entered many years in the
A.V. Fair, taking 100's of ribbons and the
sweepstakes many years.
She
is survived by children, Joann Grant (Hugh) of
Galt, Calif., Donald (Rose) Nygaard of Thief River
Falls, Wayne (Patti) Nygaard of Quartz Hill,
Calif., Judge Richard (Martha Jean) Nygaard of
Northeast, Penn., Carol Wildermuth of South Gate,
Calif.; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren;
four step great-grandchildren; and two
great-great-grandchildren.
