- Sheldon Nowacki, 49, died Saturday, February
16, 2002 at Mercy Hospital in Coon
Rapids.
Mass
of Christian burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. on
Thursday, February 21, at St. Bernard's Catholic
Church in Thief River Falls with Father Dennis
Wieland and Father Tim McGee officiating. Music
will be provided by PraySing, a musical group of
which Sheldon was once a member, and Mike Beaudry
will be the reader. Casketbearers will be Charles
Nowacki, Allen Nowacki, Earl Nowacki, Wayne
Nowacki, Tim Nowacki and Howard Nowacki. Honorary
casketbearers will be Bernie Huot, Gary Kiefert,
Paul Smeby, Greg Bulger, Sean Beaudry, and Verdean
LaMaster. Interment will be in Brooks
Cemetery.
Visitation
will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. with a 7:30 p.m.
prayer service today (Wednesday, February 20) at
Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls. Visitation
will also be held for one hour prior to services at
the church.
Sheldon
Frank Nowacki was born on December 6, 1952 in
Warren, the son of Norbert and Angeline (Przekwas)
Nowacki. He was baptized at St. Stephen's Catholic
Church in Stephen and later confirmed in the
Catholic faith. He attended School in Stephen and
went on to Moorhead State University.
On
August 12, 1972, he was married to Becky Johnson,
and the couple had to children, Jamie and
Randy.
On
November 26, 1993, Sheldon was united in marriage
to Marie Beaudry at St. Bernard's Catholic
Church.
While
residing in Fertile, Sheldon owned and operated Top
Notch Plumbing and Heating and the Top Notch Motel.
In Thief River Falls, he was employed at Lee
Plumbing and Heating and at St. Hilaire Supply.
Sheldon and Marie moved to the Twin Cities in
November of 2001 where they owned and operated a
restoration company that specialized in fire and
water restoration.
Sheldon
was involved in Teens Encounter Christ (TEC) for a
number of years.
He
was an avid deer, goose and duck hunter and enjoyed
playing the guitar, singing, golfing, and
fishing.
Sheldon
is survived by his wife, Marie of Corcoran; a
daughter, Jamie (Tim) Sargent of Ada; a son, Randy
(fiancee Tracy Petry) of Erskine; his mother,
Angeline Nowacki of Alexandria; six brothers,
Charles (Jolene) Nowacki of Mesa, Ariz., Howard
(Diane) Nowacki of Anchorage, Alaska, Norbert Allen
(Meaghan) Nowacki of Apache Junction, Ariz., Wayne
Nowacki of Alexandria, Earl Nowacki of Royalton,
and Tim Nowacki of Salt Lake City, Utah; a sister,
Elain (Mark) Archuletta of Moorhead; and several
nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-
nephews.
He
was preceded in death by his father.
