N.D. - Christine Nichols, 87, formerly of Thief
River Falls, died on Tuesday, August 26, 2003 at
Villa Maria Nursing Home in Fargo, N.D.
Funeral
services were held on Friday, August 29 at The
Basilica of St. James in Jamestown, N.D.
Christine
Ann Beleher was born on January 18, 1916 in Ely,
the daughter of Florian and Mary (Zleber) Beleher.
She grew up and attended school in Ely. After her
schooling, she worked at a movie theater in
Ely.
On
October 15, 1940 she was united in marriage to F.
Ward Nichols in Thief River Falls. The couple made
their home in Thief River Falls until 1957 when
they moved to Wahpeton, N.D., where they started
Cinema Entertainment Corporation, which operated
the Ridge Theatre in Breckinridge, the Gilles
Theatre in Wahpeton, N.D., and the Valley Drive-In
Theatre. They retired in 1985 and moved to Venice,
Fla., in 1987. Ward died in 1997 and Christine
moved to Jamestown, N.D., in 2003 to live near her
daughter. She entered Villa Maria Nursing Home in
Fargo, N.D., in June 2003. She was a member of The
Basilica of St. James in Jamestown, N.D., and a
lifetime member of the Elks.
Survivors
include her daughter, Barbara (Pat) Stockert of
Jamestown, N.D.; two grandchildren; and four
great-grandchildren.
Christine
was preceded in death by her parents; her husband;
a brother, Joseph; and two sisters, Pauline and
Mary.
