Francis Neys, 84

Erskine - Francis Neys, 84, died on Sunday, Nov. 9, 2003 at the Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine.

Mass of Christian burial will be Neys, Frank photo 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2003 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Brooks, with Father Lawrence Wagner officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Brooks. Casket bearers include: Lawrence Berberich, Wilmer Sevigny, Randy Lee, Russell Gervais, Ronnie Peterson and Jerry Shaver. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church on Thursday.

Francis John Neys was born on May 18, 1919 in Badger Township of Polk County, the son of Nicholas and Mary Ellen (Nash) Neys. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Brooks and attended Badger School in Badger Township.

Frank farmed the 'Home Farm' in Polk County his entire life. He also worked at the American Crystal Sugar Beet Plant in Crookston for ten years. Frank adored and helped raise his children, including Lowell Peterson, Lois Johanek, Ronnie Peterson, and Arlene Dorr. Frank enjoyed horses and would often reminisce about farming with the horses. He became a resident at Pioneer Care Center in Erskine in May of 2003.

Francis is survived by one brother, Joseph (Lauria) Neys of Brooks; six nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one niece.
