Nelson, 50
Goodridge
- Lee Nelson, 50, died on Friday, November 15,
2002 at Northwest Medical Center, CNC Unit, in
Thief River Falls.
Funeral
services were held on
Tuesday,
November 19 at Faith Lutheran Church in Goodridge
with Rev. Robert Dahlen officiating. Margie Iverson
was the organist and Deb Farris was the soloist.
Casketbearers were Tim Prestebak, Trent Stanley,
Lowell Stavnes, Bryan Wiseth, Dale A. Anderson,
Brian Jones and Allen Englund. Interment was held
in the Goodridge Cemetery.
Lee
Alan Nelson was born on August 19, 1952, the son of
Richard F. and Marge A. (Vraa) Nelson at
Northwestern Hospital in Thief River Falls. He was
baptized at Germantown Lutheran Church and
confirmed at Goodridge Lutheran Church. Lee
attended school in Goodridge, graduating from
Goodridge High School in 1970. He was employed at
Arctic Cat.
On
December 1, 1978, he married Donna M. Skallet at
Faith Lutheran Church in Goodridge. The couple made
their home in Grand Plain Township, near Goodridge,
where Lee worked on a dairy and small grain
farm.
Lee
enjoyed fishing and hunting. He especially enjoyed
spending time with his family and friends. He was a
member of Faith Lutheran Church, where he served on
the church council and was a Sunday School teacher.
Lee was also a school board member for the
Goodridge public school.
Survivors
include his wife, Donna of Goodridge; eight
children, Kari (Jed) McIntosh of Goodridge, Christy
Nelson of Ocala, Fla., Melanie Nelson on Thief
River Falls, Jason Nelson of Moorhead, and Peter
Nelson, Elizabeth Nelson, Rachel Nelson and Timothy
Nelson, all of Goodridge; two grandchildren; his
parents, Richard and Marge Nelson of Goodridge;
four brothers, Bruce (Linda) Nelson of McIntosh,
Brad (Lana) Nelson of Oklee, Keith Nelson of St.
Croix, Va. and Randy (Cherie) Nelson of Ashville,
N.C.; one sister, Cheri (Noel) Haake of Crookston;
and many nieces, nephews, relatives and
friends.
Lee
was preceded in death by his grandparents.
