Myrtle Naumann, 87

Badger - Myrtle Naumann, 87, died Thursday, March 1, 2001 at Henning Health Care Center in Henning.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 10, at Badger Creek Lutheran Church at Badger with Rev. Kenneth Hart officiating. Casketbearers will be Shawn Reese, Timothy Reese, Michael Reese, Daniel Reese, David Wheelhouse and Conway Reese Jr. Interment will be in Badger Creek Cemetery at rural Badger.

Visitation will be held for one hour prior to services with Belmont Funeral Home of Henning in charge of the arrangements.

Myrtle Corrinne Martinson was born on May 29, 1913 at Badger, the daughter of Simon and Bertha (Dahl) Martinson. She grew up in Badger.

In 1932, she married John Reese. He died in 1939. In the mid-1940's, Myrtle married Maurice Naumann.

She worked primarily as a housekeeper in private homes. In 1945, Myrtle moved to Thief River Falls. From 1952 until 1955, Myrtle lived in Alaska where she worked as a cook at an Army base. She returned to Thief River Falls in 1955 and later that year moved to Mound where she worked as a babysitter and housekeeper. In 1980, she returned to Badger, remaining there until the summer of 2000 when she moved to Henning and entered the Henning Health Care Center.

Myrtle is survived by three sons, David (Judy) Reese of Vining, Conway (Karen) Reese of Mound and Collin Reese of Wayzata; two daughters, Madeline (Ron) Hewitt of El Paso, Texas and Sylvia Ross of St. Peter; three sisters, Selma Blaske of St. Peter, Julia Spangrud of Mound and Olga Grythe of Badger; two brothers, Clifford Martinson of Badger and Bennie (Loretta) Martinson of International Falls; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands; parents; a grandson, Gregory; a brother, Martin; and two sisters, Alma and Martha.
