Corene Naeseth, 65

Thief River Falls - Corene Naeseth, 65, died on Saturday, July 19, 2003 at her home in Thief River Falls.

Funeral service will be held at Naeseth, Corene 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 23 (today) at the United Methodist Church in Thief River Falls with the Rev. John Wollenzien officiating. Casketbearers will be Todd Bottem, Chad Bottem, Randy Olson, Gary Hoglo, Eddie Olson, Craig Olson, Mike Olson and Joe Hoglo. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to services at the church.

Corene Adele Bottem was born on March 12, 1938 in Holt, the daughter of Melvin and Mildred (Hall) Bottem. She was raised in the Rosewood area and attended the Rosebank Country School. She also attended Lincoln High School.

On July 20, 1955 she was united in marriage to Erwin "Swede" Olson in Rosewood. The couple made their home in Thief River Falls, where they owned and operated Swede's Grocery Store for 19 years. She also worked at Lon Goebel's Catering for a couple of years at Northland College and cooked at the Evergreen Eating Emporium in Thief River Falls until her health declined.

On March 17, 1988, she was united in marriage to Lowell M. Naeseth in Thief River Falls. They made their home in Thief River Falls. Corene enjoyed cooking and baking, fishing, hunting, camping and traveling.

Survivors include her husband, Lowell of Thief River Falls; children, Lynell (Ronald) Omlid of Thief River Falls, Brian (Sharon) Olson of Thief River Falls, Laurel Muetzel of Bemidji, Lorna (Jeffrey) Olson of Thief River Falls, Brenda Olson of Thief River Falls, Valerie Naeseth of Middle River, and Randy (Cari) Naeseth of Valley City, N.D.; 19 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Curtis (Opal) Bottem of Grygla; and many other friends and relatives.

Corene was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Culver Bottem; husband, Erwin "Swede" Olson; son-in-law, Duane J. Olson; and one grandson. A00003B2003JL23
