Thief
River Falls - Florence Myhrer, 92, died on
Friday, September 12, 2003 at Northwest Medical
Center, CNC Unit in Thief River Falls.
Funeral
services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday,
September 19 at the Evangelical Free Church in
Newfolden with the Rev. Gary Barrett officiating.
Casketbearers will be David Myhrer, Keith Myhrer,
Brent Monroe, Brian Rokke, Larry Myhrer and Milo
Monroe. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in
Newfolden. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m.
on Thursday, September 18 at the Johnson-Green
Funeral Home in Thief River Falls with a 7 p.m.
prayer service. Visitation will also be held for
one hour prior to services at the church on
Friday.
Florence
Clarice Nelson was born on December 8, 1910 in
Strandquist, the daughter of Rasmi and Emma (Bloom)
Nelson. She was baptized in the Christian faith and
confirmed in Newfolden. She attended school in
Strandquist, graduating from Strandquist High
School in 1928. She worked in various stores
including Newfolden Mercantile, Amundson and Lee
and Smeby Hardware.
On
October 26, 1935, Florence was united in marriage
to Kore Thorvald Myhrer in Strandquist. She was a
member of the Evangelical Free Church in Newfolden.
She enjoyed being a homemaker, playing the piano,
gardening, working with her flowers and baking. She
made excellent divinity and flatbread.
Survivors
include one brother, the Rev. Merrill (Amy) Nelson
of Duarte, Calif., and several nieces and
nephews.
Florence
was preceded in death by her husband, Kore; her
parents; brothers, Alvin Nelson and Clarence
Nelson; and sisters, Minnie Elseth, Ella Thun and
Ann Hanson.
