Lake Falls - Kyle Myhre, 18, died Friday, May
7, 2004 in an automobile accident near Red Lake
Falls.
Funeral
services were held on
Tuesday,
May 11 at the Lafayette High School in Red Lake
Falls with Rev. Gary Graff officiating. Interment
followed at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Red Lake
Falls.
Kyle
Arthur Myhre was born on December 3, 1985 in Thief
River Falls, to Randy and Josie (Erickson) Myhre.
He was baptized at St. John Lutheran Church in Red
Lake Falls. He was confirmed on April 1, 1999 at
the Bethany Lutheran Church in Red Lake Falls. He
grew up near Red Lake Falls all of his life;
attending elementary school in Red Lake Falls and
was currently a senior at Lafayette High School.
Kyle worked and was a significant part of the
family farm. He also worked at Voyageur's View in
Red Lake Falls last summer.
Kyle
was active in hockey and served as a captain of the
hockey team, receiving the Hobey Baker Award for
exemplary leadership and sportsmanship, and was
honored as All Conference MVP and Most Dedicated.
He also played football. He enjoyed fishing,
hunting, and snowmobiling. He especially liked to
just hang out with his family and friends. He was
also a member of the Sportsmen's Club.
Kyle
is survived by his parents Randy and Josie of Red
Lake Falls; a brother and sister, Aaron and Amanda,
of Red Lake Falls; grandparents, Sidney "Duane" and
Barbara Myhre of Red Lake Falls, Josephine Erickson
of Plummer; one great-grandmother, Dorothy Myhre of
Brooks; aunts and uncles, Vickie (Tim) Olson of
Fertile, Jody (Howard) Gudvangen of Fertile, Darin
(Val) Myhre of Red Lake Falls, Tammy (Marty)
Audette of Thief River Falls, Stacy (Jody)
Beauchane of Fertile, Jill Hall of Thief River
Falls, Jane (Carl) Smith of Fargo, N.D., Art
(Betty) Erickson of Thief River Falls, Lloyd
Erickson of Crookston, Alan (Judy) Erickson of
Erskine, Annette (Dale) Johnson of Thief River
Falls, Cecily (Milo Oppegard) Erickson of Plummer;
special friend, McKenzie Comstock of Thief River
Falls; and many cousins, other relatives, and
friends.
Kyle
was preceded in death by his grandfather, Arthur
Erickson; one aunt, Phyllis Erickson; one uncle,
Harold Hall; his great grandfather, Sidney Arthur
Myhre; and cousin Nicholas Olson.
