East
Grand Forks - Joyce "Joycee" Myers, 69, died on
Sunday, April 20, 2003 at Altru Hospital in Grand
Forks, N.D.
Memorial
services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, April
25 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in East Grand
Forks. Visitation will be held for one hour prior
to services at the church. Inurnment will be held
at Resurrection Cemetery in East Grand Forks.
Joyce
Myers was born on June 11, 1933, the daughter of
Albert and Grace (Vixie) Roisum, in Alvarado. She
lived in Alvarado until she was nine years old,
then moved to Grand Forks, N.D., where she attended
Central High School.
On May
16, 1953, Joyce was united in marriage to Franklyn
J. Myers in Warren. The couple built their home in
East Grand Forks. In her youth, Joyce enjoyed
roller skating and being with friends. She loved
spending time with her family and special friends
at the lake, on the golf course or in McAllen,
Texas, where she spent winters. She was always
active and loved roller skating, bowling, fishing,
camping or traveling with family and
friends.
Survivors
include two sons, Terry (Malanee) of East Grand
Forks, and Rick (Janet) of Thief River Falls; a
daughter, Jeri (Bill) Bouvette of Sioux Falls,
S.D.; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a
sister, Jean Sledge of Minneapolis; one brother, Al
Roisum, Jr.; many nieces and nephews; and many
wonderful friends.
Joyce was
preceded in death by her husband, Franklyn; her
parents; her step-father; a sister, Mavis Bergum;
and an infant sister, Shirley Vixie.
