Red
Lake Falls - Leo Musil, 80, died Wednesday,
February 14, 2001 at his rural Red Lake Falls
home.
Memorial
services were held on Sunday, February 18, 2001 at
Johnson Funeral Service in Red Lake Falls with
Father Dave Super officiating. Marjorie Schafer was
the organist, and the soloist was Sarah Brevik.
Military honors were provided by the Red Lake Falls
American Legion Post. Burial was in Fort Snelling
National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
Leo
William Musil was born on March 13, 1920 in Red
Lake Falls, the son of Frank and Kate (Kuld) Musil.
He was raised in the Red Lake Falls area and
graduated from Lafayette High School in 1938. He
entered the U.S. Navy and served overseas from
September 28, 1942 until his honorable discharge on
January 1, 1946.
Leo
returned to Red Lake Falls where he was united in
marriage to Veo Paul. The couple lived at Red Lake
Falls where Leo farmed the home farm and worked for
Red Lake Electric Cooperative until his retirement
in 1983. Veo died on June 7, 2000.
Leo
was a member of the Red Lake Falls American Legion
and the Sportsmen's Club.
He
enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
Leo
is survived by two daughters, Mary (Louie) Toulouse
of Emmons and Pam (Al) Walker of Red Lake Falls;
six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a
sister, Florence Christianson of Hutchinson; three
sisters-in-law; and many nieces and
nephews.
He
was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; a
brother, Larry Musil; and two
brothers-in-law.
