G. Edwin Mounger, 79

Fargo, N.D. - G. Edwin Mounger, 79, died on Thursday, November 21, 2002 at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, N.D.

Funeral services were held on Monday, November 25 at Eksjo Lutheran Church in rural Lake Park. Interment was in Dale Immanuel Cemetery of rural Hawley.

G. Edwin (Eddie) Mounger was born on March 29, 1923 in Davenport, Wash. He graduated from Washington State College in 1949 with degrees in industrial arts and psychology. He later earned a degree in engineering from the University of Minnesota. Eddie taught industrial arts in Wapato, Wash. for two years before moving to Minneapolis, where he worked for Honeywell for three years. In 1956, he moved to Newfolden, where he taught for eight years. In 1965, he moved to the Lunder farm in Dale and taught industrial arts in Lake Park for four years. He also worked in a cabinet shop for a time. Eddie taught cabinet making and carpentry at Northwest Technical Colled in Moorhead for 11 years before retiring from teaching in 1981. After retirement, he built cabinets and remodeled home from his shop on the farm.

Eddie served his country in the Army Air Force during World War II. He was stationed in England and flew combat missions over Europe.

On August 30, 1947, he married Marilyn Lunder in Spokane, Wash. He was a longtime member of Eksjo Lutheran Church, where he served on the church council and the property committee.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn; a son, Scott of Phoenix, Ariz.; a daughter, Marylee Mounger of Wilsonville, Ore.; two grandchildren; a twin sister, Edith Reinbold of Davenport, Wash.; a sister, Beulah Reinbold of Davenport, Wash.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A00003B2002DC18
