Henry Molskness, 94

Thief River Falls - Henry Molskness, 94, died on Thursday, January 9, 2003 at Oakland Park Nursing Home in Thief River Falls.

Funeral services were held on Molskness, Henry Sunday, January 12 at New Life Family Worship Center in Thief River Falls with Rev. George Bunnell officiating. Brenda Bunnell was the pianist and Tammy Leschber was the soloist. Casketbearers were Henry's grandchildren. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery.

Henry John Molskness was born on November 22, 1908, the son of John and Sina (Kaldor) Molskness in Hillsboro, N.D. He moved to Dorothy in 1910 with his family and attended the Black River Area School. Henry worked on the family farm until he was 21 years old, when he moved out on his own.

On April 5, 1937, he married Frances Victoria Graham in Crookston. The couple made their home in Crookston and Henry worked for the WPA for one year. He worked on a farm in Euclid for four years, and then the couple rented a farm near Crookston for a while. Henry then began working for the Great Northern Railroad and also as a fireman and a boilerman. Later, he farmed at his brother, Clarence's farm, worked at Tunberg Motors in the body shop, at City Dairy, the turkey plant, the Bert Vigen farm and worked maintenance at the hospital and armory until his retirement.

Henry enjoyed taking drives in the country and being with nature, working on cars, gardening, toe-tapping music, going to church, spending time with his family and visiting the home place on the Pembina Ridge. He was a member of the New Life Family Worship Center.

Survivors include his wife, Frances of Thief River Falls; three children, Donnie, Lyle (Suzanne) and Rhoda (John) Wengeler, all of Thief River Falls; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Signe Jorgenson of Thief River Falls, Bernard (Ora) of Tacoma, Wash., and Maynard (Irene) Molskness, Dagny Irvin, Gerhard Molskness and Raymond (Arlene) Molskness, all of Thief River Falls; a sister-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers and sisters, Magda Russum, Amanda Hinden and Clarence Molskness.
