- Irene Moe, 93, died on Thursday, May 15, 2003
at Sheltering Oaks Manor in Roseau.
Funeral
services were held on Monday, May 19 at the Moe
Lutheran Church in Roseau. Interment was in Salem
Cemetery in Roseau.
Irene
Leona Solberg was born on April 26, 1910, the
daughter of Gilbert and Antonette (Sheggrud)
Solberg, in Bagley.
On
October 6, 1934, Irene was united in marriage to
Lawrence Moe in Wannaska. They bought land in Reine
Township, where they farmed for 31 years. In 1965,
they moved from the farm into the city of Roseau.
Irene had been employed at the Roseau Children's
Home and the Roseau High School. For the past 20
months, she has been residing at the Sheltering
Oaks Manor.
Survivors
include her husband, Lawrence of Roseau; daughter,
Dione (Walt) Lund of Brainerd; sons, Don (Marilyn)
of Hamel, and Larry (Cheri) of Apple Valley; nine
grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters,
Francis Jackson and Pearl Brandt; and many nieces
and nephews.
Irene was
preceded in death by her parents; a still-born
daughter, Sharon; sisters, Evelyn Moe and Vivian
Erickson; and brothers, Allen, Loyd, Earl and
Glen.
