McQuiston, 53
Eyota
- Orville M. McQuiston, 53, died Tuesday, March
19, 2002 as the result of an automobile accident
near Eyota.
Funeral
services were held on
Saturday,
March 23, at St. Martin's Evangelical Lutheran
Church with Rev. William Flesch officiating.
Casketbearers were Jeremy McQuiston, Tim Spalding,
Harry Wetzel, Ali Almatrok, Keith Bugge, and Bruce
Armstrong. Honorary casketbearers were Skyler
McQuiston and Yousef Alatrok. Members of American
Legion Post 9 of Winona conducted military burial
rites at the church following the service.
Fawcett-Junker Funeral Home and Cremation Services
of Winona was in charge of the
arrangements.
Orville
M. McQuiston was born on December 24, 1948 in
Sandstone, the son of Leo and Ida (Patch)
McQuiston.
On
June 28, 1975, he married Susan Dyrdal at Thief
River Falls. Orville lived in Winona for 26 years
before moving to Eyota in 1998. At the time of his
death, he was working as a custodian/engineer for
Rochester Public Schools, currently at Folwell
Elementary School. Previous employment included
Elton Hills Elementary School, Dover-Eyota School,
and Winona Senior High School. Prior to that, he
was employed for 18 years with J.R. Watkins
Products of Winona.
Orville
attended Redeemer Lutheran Church in Winona and was
a member of the International Brotherhood of Boiler
Engineers.
He
enjoyed helping people, both young and old, working
in his garden, traveling with his wife, and
spending time with his family, grandchildren, and
friends.
Orville
is survived by his wife, Susan of Eyota; a son,
Jeremy (fiancee Lori Luethi) McQuiston of Winona;
two daughters, Nissa McQuiston of Rochester and
Tasha (Ali) Almatrok of Claremont; three
grandchildren; his father, Leo McQuiston of Barnum;
13 siblings, Charles (Sue) of Duluth, Raymond
(Patty) of Hinckley, John (Lori) of Vadnais
Heights, Robert (Toni) of St. Paul, Theresa Carlson
of Roseville, Ralph (Sharol) of Wadena, William
(Carollee) of Williston, N.D., Joyce Flynn of
Cloquet, Tina (Roger) Wilson of Willard, Ohio, Toni
(Rev. Ken) Johnson of Avon, S.D., Tammy (Joe)
McCormick of Mantorville; Richie (Jessica) Dickson
of Claremont, and Terry (Pat) Klonecki of Homer;
several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and
many nieces and nephews.
He
was preceded in death by his mother; stepmother,
Phyllis; two brothers, Benjamin and Patrick; and a
