Ill. - Esther McMurray, 87, died Thursday,
January 3, 2002.
A
graveside service was held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday,
January 8, at Mount Vernon Cemetery in Springfield.
Buell Chapel of Springfield was in charge of the
arrangements.
Esther
Lenore Evenson was born on September 6, 1914 in
Thief River Falls, the daughter of Christ and Clara
Evenson.
On
November 6, 1937, she married James McMurray in
Thief River Falls. They moved to Walterville, Ill.
in 1938. For many years, Lenore worked at Agripac,
retiring in 1978. James died on February 11,
1996.
Esther
was a member of the Thurston Grange and Teamsters
Local 656. She attended Thurston Christian
Church.
She
enjoyed camping, traveling, rock hunting, playing
bingo and visiting Reno, Nev. with her
friends.
Esther
is survived by a daughter, Karen Jones of
Springfield; two sons, Don of Springfield and James
of Seattle, Wash.; two sisters, Anne Borgaard and
Mayme Aune; four grandchildren; and five
