Lake Falls - Stephanie McCasland, 86, died on
Tuesday, December 3, 2002 at Hillcrest Nursing Home
in Red Lake Falls.
Mass
of Christian Burial was
held
on Saturday, December 7 at St. Joseph Catholic
Church in Red Lake Falls with Rev. Tim Bushy
officiating. Kathie Knott was the organist and
special music was provided by the St. Joseph Church
Choir. Casketbearers were Don Shnyder, Mike
Shnyder, John Timm, Tony Shnyder, Brett Pierson and
Paul Weber. Interment was in St. Joseph Cemetery in
Red Lake Falls.
Stephanie
Grzybowski was born on October 12, 1916, the
daughter of Stanley and Johanna (Orzek) Grzybowski
in Chicago, Ill. She was raised in Michigan and
moved to California at the age of 18. On September
7, 1940, Stephanie was united in marriage to
Everett McCasland in Salome, Ariz. The couple lived
in California, where Stephanie worked as a waitress
and homemaker. Everett died in 1970. In 1971, she
moved to Red Lake Falls. In 1982, she moved into
Sunview Homes and in 2001, she moved into Hillcrest
Nursing Home, where she has since
resided.
Stephanie
enjoyed telling stories and especially loved being
with her great and great
great-grandchildren.
Survivors
include a daughter, Margaret Saffeels of Red Lake
Falls; three grandchildren; six
great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren;
sisters, Genive Grzybowski and Jenny (Chet)
Maksymowski of Michigan; and special friend, Paul
Weber.
Stephanie
was preceded in death by her husband, Everett; her
parents; and a great-granddaughter.
