McBride, 40
Badger
- Delayne McBride, 40, died Sunday, August 5,
2001 at the Roseau Area Hospital.
Funeral
services were held Friday, August 10, at 2 p.m. at
Nazareth
Luth-eran Church in Holt. Casket-bearers were Miles
Garthus, Kevin Peterson, Arlyn Olson, Todd Filmore,
Brian Swenson and Doug Sorter. Interment was in
Ringbo Cemetery at Holt with Helgeson Funeral
Chapel of Roseau in charge of the arrangements.
Delayne
Rae Swenson was born on May 28. 1961 in Roseau, the
daughter of Eldon and Corrine (Olson) Swenson. She
grew up in the Ringbo community near Holt and was
baptized and confirmed at Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
In 1979, she graduated from Newfolden High
School.
In July
of 1981, Delayne married Rick McBride, and the
couple moved to California where their children
were born. In 1989, she and the children moved to
Badger, and Delayne was employed by Polaris
Industries for 12 years. For the past six months,
she had been working at Marvin Windows.
She
enjoyed horseback riding, crocheting, flower
gardening, camping, fishing, hunting and especially
spending time with her children.
Delayne
is survived by two children, Nicole McBride and
Brandon McBride, both of Badger; two stepchildren,
Melissa Starren and Ryan Starren, and their father,
Paul Starren, all of Roseau; her parents, Eldon and
Corrine Swenson of Middle River; four sisters,
Cecelia "Tootsie" (David) Vickaryous of Anchorage,
Alaska, Becky (Mitch) Broderson and Dawn (Roger)
Blank, both of Newfolden and Cindy (Richard)
Kukowski of Badger; a brother, Robert Swenson of
Middle River; godparents, Jay and Carol Garthus of
Middle River and Gene and Kay Sistad of Fosston;
two step-grandchildren, Samantha Fuller and Oliver
Buley; her godchildren, Craig Skadsem of Newfolden
and Ashley Kukowski of Badger; and many nieces,
nephews, cousins and other relatives.
She was
preceded in death by her grandparents, George and
Ida Olson and Helmer and Emma Swenson, an aunt and
an uncle.
