Milton Mayer-Oakes, 74

Rialto, Calif. - Milton Mayer-Oakes died Saturday, June 9, 2001 at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Fontana, Calif.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 13, at Mountain View Mortuary in San Bernadino, Calif.

Milton Stanley Mayer-Oaks was born on December 26, 1926 in Argyle, the son of G.H. and Sara (McMullen) Mayer-Oakes. He attended Washington, Knox and Northrup grade schools and Lincoln High School, graduating in 1944.

After serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II, he attended college in Moorhead and then joined his brother in California. Milton owned several Chevron stations and was retired at the time of his death.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Virginia; a son, Robert Lindberg; four daughters, Joann Lang, Jen Lindberg, Karen Lindberg-Houlihan and Linda Barnett; four grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy E. Williams of Thief River Falls; and two cousins.

Milton was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Robert L. Mayer-Oakes; a sister, Mary E. Johnson; and a son, Lanse Mayer-Oakes. A00003B2001JL18
