Marguerite Mathison, 94

Superior, Wisc. - Marguerite Mathison, 94, died Tuesday, January 8, 2002 at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Facility.

Memorial services will be planned for a later date with burial in Nemadji Cemetery. Thompson-Hegstrom Funeral Home of Superior is in charge of the arrangements.

Marguerite Poole was born on January 3, 1908 in Hibbing, the daughter of Wallace and Katherine (Welch) Poole. She had been a resident of Superior for more than 50 years. For 25 years, she was employed as head housekeeper at the former Saratoga Hotel. Her husband, Delphen Mathison, died on April 18, 1978.

Marguerite had been a member of the former St. Louis Catholic Church and the Degree of Pochahontus, Waunita Council.

Survivors include a daughter, Nancy (Carroll) Buck of Thief River Falls; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four great great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Marguerite was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and two sisters. A00003B2002JA16
