- Ronald Matheny, 68, died on Friday, August
15, 2003 at First Care Hospital in
Fosston.
Funeral
services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday,
August 20 (today) at the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral
Home in Erskine with the Rev. Lois Ball
officiating. Casketbearers will be Curtis
Pawlitschek, Craig Ellithorpe, Ambrose Anderson,
Jesse Anderson and Brendon Rasco. Visitation will
be held for one hour prior to services. Interment
will be in Fairview Cemetery of rural
Erskine.
Ronald
Harry Matheny was born on October 23, 1934 in
Enterprise, W.V., the son of Harry and Ruth
(Styles) Matheny. He was raised in West Virginia
and in his younger years, he was a coal miner for
many years.
On
March 26, 1954 he married Rosemary Lee Gould. In
the late 1970s, he moved with his family to Texas
where he farmed for many years until ill health
forced him to retire. In the early 1990s, he moved
to Erskine to be close to his daughters. He has
lived in Erskine with his wife for the last 10
years.
Survivors
include his wife, Rosemary of Erskine; 10 children,
Patricia, Tommy, Sally (Mike) Hand, Crystal (Todd)
Pace, Nilson (Tammy), Wilma (Johnny) Rasco, Harold
(Mary), Rhonda (Curtis) Pawlitschek, Brenda and
Robin (Craig) Ellithorpe; several grandchildren and
great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Blackwell;
and one brother, John Matheny.
Ronald
was preceded in death by five sisters and one
brother.
