Ervin Maruska, 87

Maruska-ErvinWarren - Ervin E. Maruska, 87, died Friday, May 18, 2001 at North Valley Health Care Center in Warren.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2001 at Zion Lutheran Church in Warren. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery in Warren with Quanrud-DuBore Funeral Home of Warren in charge of the arrangements.

Ervin E. Maruska was born on November 24, 1913 in Tabor township of Polk County, the son of William and Mary (Kunsel) Maruska. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church at rural Fisher and attended Cornell School District 185 in Tabor.

On September 14, 1938 he was united in marriage to Ella Ross of Fisher at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Crookston. The couple lived and farmed in Tabor township for many years. In 1967, they moved to Minneapolis where Ervin was employed by the Minneapolis Housing Authority. He retired in 1977 and moved to Warren where he worked for the Good Samaritan Center for several years.

Ervin was a 4-H leader and served on the school board.

Survivors include his wife, Ella; a daughter, Judy (Tom) Yutrzenka of Viking; a son, Gerald (Sandra) of Angus; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Ervin was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Vickie.
