George Martin, Jr., 78

Becketwood - George B. Martin, Jr., 78, formerly of Thief River Falls, died on Sunday, June 1, 2003.

A celebration of his life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 7 at Becketwood, 4300 W. River Parkway, Minneapolis.

George practiced medicine in Thief River Falls for 32 years. He was a past president of the Minnesota Medical Association and past president of the Medical Board of Examiners. He had a good life and made a difference in the lives of many people and the organizations he served.

Survivors include his wife, Peg Hanson; daughter, Jodi Martin (David Stewart); son, George B. Martin III (Katie Susens); one grandson; sister, Helen (Sam) Felton; step-daughter, Peggy (Rod) Campbell; two step-granchildren; and one step great-grandchild.
