Eugene Lull, 63

Erskine - Eugene Lull, 63, died on Tuesday, October 8, 2002 at Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 12 at Johnson-Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls. Special music included "On Eagles Wings" and "Amazing Grace." Honorary casketbearers were all Gene's family and friends who were at the service. Military honors were presented by the American Legion Ecklund-Holmstrom Post #117 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2793 of Thief River Falls.

Eugene Harles Lull was born on November 28, 1938, the son of Archie and Illa (Lappegaard) Lull in Thief River Falls. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He grew up and attended Lincoln High School, graduating in 1956. Following graduation, Eugene served in the U.S. Navy for 14 years. Following his discharge, he worked road construction in Minnesota, North Dakota and Alaska.

In 1957, Eugene and Jean Hill were united in marriage in Red Lake Falls. In 1965, he married Veronica Lull. Eugene moved back to Thief River Falls and then to Gully in 1986. He began to help farmers in the area from 1986 to 2001. In September 2001, Eugene entered the Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include children, Kevin (Margaret) of St. Hilaire, Robin (Steven) Gumusk of Story City, Iowa, Alan (Renee) of West Bend, Wisc., Greg, Kari and Shawn Lull; four grandchildren; and sisters, Sharon (Roy) Jablinske of Thief River Falls and Gayle Langevin of Tucson, Ariz.

Eugene was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Richard Langevin. A00003B2002OT16
