Yvonne Loeffler-Royrvik, 72

Beulah, N.D. - Yvonne L. Loeffler-Royrvik, 72, formerly of Thief River Falls, died on Friday, August 1, 2003 at St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck, N.D.

Yvonne Royrvik Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 7 at Johnson-Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls.

Yvonne was born in Twin Valley, the daughter of Edmund and Helen (Leines) Thoreson. She grew up and attended school in Twin Valley.

On October 8, 1949 she was united in marriage to Bernard Loeffler in Thief River Falls. The couple made their home in Pembina, N.D., where Bernard worked for the Northern Pacific Railroad. After he died in 1972, Yvonne moved to Fargo, N.D., where she worked as an adminstrative assistant for the Alfalfa Pelleting Company. She met and married Andreas Royrvik on June 20, 1981 in Cavalier, N.D. In 1988, the couple moved to Lavik, Norway, where they resided until February 2002. They moved to Beulah, N.D., to be closer to their family.

Yvonne loved music and played the piano. She enjoyed sewing, reading, painting, crossword puzzles and spending time with her family and cats. Over the years, she spent much of her time volunteering for a variety of charitable organizations.

Survivors include her husband, Andreas; eight children, Renee (Ben) Thomas of Hazen, N.D., Bernard Paul Jr. (Lee) of Albuquerque, N.M., Richard (Barbara) of Portage, Ind., Jeffrey (Jennie) of Colorado Springs, Colo., Joey of Pembina, N.D., Cheryl (Jan) Ypma of British Columbia, Canada, Jill (Bill) Thomas of Beulah, N.D., and Trina (Jim) Vian of Groton, Mass.; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gene and Loren Thoreson; and many nieces and nephews.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Bernard; and her sister, Pauline.
