Natalie Lindquist, 90

Hillsboro, Ore. - Natalie C. Lindquist, 90, died Wednesday, February 14, 2001 at her home at Cornell Estates in Hillsboro, Ore.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Lindquist Obit on Monday, February 19, at Bronleewe-Bass Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Rev. Fred Hornshuh officiating. Evelyn Gallaway was the organist, and the vocalist was Anne Caravone. Dick Cruger played the banjo. Interment was in Valley Memorial Park.

Natalie C. Woolson was born on October 24, 1910, the daughter of Harry C. and Julia (Nelson) Woolson. She grew up and was educated in Thief River Falls, attending Elwell elementary school through the eighth grade and then graduating from Lincoln High School in 1928. After majoring in animal husbandry at the University of Minnesota, Crookston, she worked at Thief River Falls County Agricultural Office.

On August 6, 1932, Natalie was united in marriage to Frank P. Johnson at the Pennington County Fair. They made their home near St. Hilaire and raised turkeys. In 1947, they moved to Oregon where they continued to own poultry farms. Frank died on November 7, 1964.

After moving to Hillsboro, Ore., Natalie married Robert Lindquist. He died on October 23, 1974. Natalie eventually moved to Cornell Estates, a retirement home.

For many years, she was an active member of Orenco Presbyterian Church where she sang in the ladies quartet. More recently, she was active in the church services at Cornell Estates. She led a quilting group and enjoyed poetry and writing classes. She also enjoyed gardening throughout her life.

Natalie is survived by two daughters, Sandra Goebel of Menlo Park, Calif. and Marge Raffanti of San Jose, Calif.; a son, Barry Johnson of Columbus, Ga.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Chapman of Thief River Falls and Raca Howard of Tulsa, Okla.; and several nieces, including her caregiver, Iris Chapman of Hillsboro, Ore.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; a sister, Bernice Sorenson; an infant twin daughter, Bonnie; a nephew; and two brothers-in-law. A00003B2000FB28
