- Louise Lefebvre, 93, died Friday, February
23, 2001 at Pioneer Memorial Care Center in
Erskine.
Mass
of Christian burial will be held on Friday, March
2, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic
Church in Oklee with Father Gary LaMoine
officiating. Barb Melby will be the organist.
Vocalists will include Carolyn Rystad, Lori Melby
and Joan Bronken. Jim and Shirley Jaeger will be
the gift bearers, and Jerry Freitag will be the
reader. Casketbearers will be Neil Mattison, Alan
Mattison, Kyle Lefebvre, Wayne Lefebvre, Alan Walsh
and Michael Walsh. Interment will be in St. Francis
Xavier Catholic Cemetery in Oklee.
Visitation
will be held Thursday, March 1, from 5 to 8 p.m.
with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service at St. Francis
Xavier Catholic Church. Visitation will also be
held for one hour prior to services at the
church.
Louise
Marie Charest was born on June 3, 1907 in Lambert
township near Oklee, the daughter of George Sr. and
Olivine (Paquin) Charest. She was baptized and
confirmed at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in
Oklee and attended school in Lambert
township.
On
November 5, 1930, she was united in marriage to
Alveda N. Lefebvre at Oklee. The couple lived and
farmed in the Oklee area all of their lives. Alveda
died in 1976. In December of 1997, Louise moved to
Valley Home in Thief River Falls and had resided at
Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine since
September of 1999.
She
was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church,
Mary Circle and St. Ann's Society.
Louise
is survived by three sons, James (Linda) Lefebvre
of Sauk Rapids, William (Becky) Lefebvre of
Richfield and Michael (Peggy) Lefebvre of
Henderson, Nev.; five daughters, Donna (Lester)
Champagne of Niagra, Wisc., Eileen (Mark) Walsh of
North St. Paul, Janice (Jerry) Freitag of Plummer,
Carol (Lee) Hagelee of Edina and Marilyn (Donovan)
Stoneouse of Thief River Falls; 28 grandchildren;
23 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild;
six step grandchildren; and three sisters, Rose
Perreault of Red Lake Falls, Alvina Fichback of
Monticello and Eva Charest of Oklee.
She
was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a
daughter, Audrey Jaeger; three brothers, George
Charest Jr., Walter Charest and Phil Charest; six
sisters, Eugenie Dupont, Valada Tessier, Sister
Eucharia (Anne), Sister Zita (Hedgewig), Sister
Borgia (Flore) and Ida Charest; and a son-in-law,
