River Falls - Melva Lee, 86, died Friday, March
26, 2004 at Regions Hospital, St. Paul.
Funeral
services were held on Monday, April 5, 2004 at
Trinity Lutheran
Church in Thief River Falls, with Rev. Tim Bauer
officiating. Casket bearers included Grandchildren,
LaDonna Golden, Steve Golden, Derek Lee, Stacy Lee,
Jared Lee, Megan Marino, Jennifer Cummings, Trevor
Lee and Sarah Lee. Eulogy was given by Melva's
granddaughter, Jennifer Cummings. Interment
followed at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River
Falls.
Melva
Ella Bornholdt was born December 20, 1917 to Henry
and Amanda Bornholdt in Alvord, Iowa. She moved to
Clinton, then to Thief River Falls when she was a
senior in high school.
Melva
married Carl Edwin Lee on March 4, 1939 in Thief
River Falls. The couple lived in Thief River Falls
raising their family. They owned Lee Plumbing and
Heating, where she worked the first few years of
their marriage.
She
was active in church, bowling and birthday club and
caring for her children, grandchildren and great
grandchildren-the loves of her life.
Survivors
include one son, Larry (Cheryl) Lee of Thief River
Falls; two daughters, Shirley (Jim) Palmer of
Minneapolis; Susan (Bruce) Nelson of Webster; five
grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two
sisters, Florence Holt of Arlington, Va. and Vivian
Carter of Salem, Ore.; and two brothers, Donald
Bornholdt of Brooklyn Center, and Derald Bornholdt,
Calif.
She
was preceded in death by her husband Carl.
