Barbara LaSalle, 68

Thief River Falls - Barbara LaSalle, 68, died on Wednesday, September 3, 2003 at her lake home at Pine Lake, near Gonvick.

Funeral services were held on LaSalle, Barbara photo Monday, September 8 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls with the Rev. John Wollenzien officiating. Casketbearers were Darrin Jordahl, Corey LaSalle, Kyle Wold, John Stevens, Bart Stevens and Chris Satterlund. Honorary casketbearers were Kelly LaSalle, Kari Wold, Harrison Bayne, Hailey Bayne, Angela Jordahl and Alyssa Jordahl. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls.

Barbara Jean Bishop was born on April 2, 1935 in Thief River Falls, the daughter of Orlando and Hazel (Krause) Bishop. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Trinity Lutheran Church. She attended Knox Elementary School and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1953. Following high school, she attended and graduated from Moorhead State College with a degree in education.

On August 28, 1955, Barbara was united in marriage to Jack R. LaSalle in Thief River Falls. The couple lived in Fargo, N.D., Crookston and Bottineau, N.D., before moving to Thief River Falls in 1972. She and Jack owned and operated Bruce Pharmacy and Fountain of Jewels for many years. Jack died in 1989. Barb later went to work as a hostess at the Best Western. She enjoyed her grandchildren and their activities, traveling and spending time at her lake home at Pine Lake. She also enjoyed reading, music, playing piano and spending time outdoors and hunting. Barb was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Hospital Auxiliary at Northwest Medical Center and was a volunteer with March of Dimes in Crookston.

Survivors include four children, Mike (Kristi) LaSalle, Patti Wold and Bill LaSalle, all of Thief River Falls, and Leigh (Darrin) Jordahl of Barnes, Wisc.; eight grandchildren; one sister, Mary Lee (John) Stevens of Lake City; and two nieces and one nephew.

Barb was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; her parents; one sister, Carol Tesi; and many aunts and uncles. A00003B2003SP10
