Madrienne Larter, 83

Thief River Falls - Madrienne Larter, 83, formerly of Lancaster, died Thursday, March 8, 2001 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.

A private family funeral service was held Tuesday, March 13, at Green Funeral Home Chapel in Thief River Falls with Rev. Jay Borchert officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Memorial Garden in Lancaster.

Madrienne Balderston was born on April 6, 1917 in Hallock, the daughter of William Earnest and Florence (Fitzgerald) Balderston. She grew up and attended country school through the eighth grade in McKinley township. Madrienne worked at numerous cleaning jobs in the Humboldt and Hallock communities.

On December 8, 1939, she was united in marriage to Lewis Larter in Canada. The couple lived and farmed in McKinley township for 47 years.

Madrienne enjoyed quilting, gardening, crocheting and working at church events.

Survivors include a daughter, Maryanne Fuller of Thief River Falls; two grandsons; two sisters, Faye Lyberg of Lancaster and Dorothy Ott of Arizona; a brother, Ray of Bird Island; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Madrienne was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Vernon; her parents; a brother, Lawrence; and four sisters, Blanche, Mae, Myrtle and Hazel. A00003B2000MA14
