Falls - Arthur Larson, 89, died Wednesday,
March 6, 2002 at Broen Memorial Home in Fergus
Falls.
Services
were held Saturday, March 9, at Tordenskjold
Lutheran Church, rural Underwood, with Rev. Steve
Carlson and Rev. David Skordahl officiating.
Interment was in Tordenskjold Lutheran Church
Cemetery, rural Underwood, with Olson Funeral Home
of Fergus Falls in charge of the arrangements.
Arthur
Arnold Larson was born on January 4, 1913 in Fergus
Falls, the son of Anton and Amanda (Berns) Larson.
He attended schools in Underwood and Fergus Falls,
graduating from Fergus Falls High School in 1932.
On
December 10, 1941, he married Nellie Mark. The
couple farmed in the Dalton area. In 1961, Arthur
began working at the Dalton Creamery where he
served as manager from 1972 until his retirement in
1980. In 1982, Arthur and Nellie moved to Fergus
Falls.
An
active member of Tordenskjold Lutheran Church, he
served on the church council, as church president,
and as a sexton of the Tordenskjold Lutheran Church
Cemetery. Over the years, he was involved with the
District 20 school board and also served on the
Dane Prairie Zoning Board and was a commissioner
for the Fergus Falls Branch of Lutheran
Brotherhood.
He
enjoyed bowling, woodworking, playing cards, and
spending time with family and friends.
Arthur
is survived by his wife, Nellie of Fergus Falls;
two daughters, Carol (John) Sailer of Wheaton and
Judy (Gregory) Evenson of Thief River Falls; two
sons, Allen (Susan) Larson of Karlstad and Neal
(Kalynn) Larson of Moorhead; 10 grandchildren; four
great-grandchildren; and a sister, Viona Anderson
of Fergus Falls.
He
was preceded in death by his parents and a brother,
Lloyd.
